10-2-10 Pilot Mountain Cruise-In

Perfect weather greeted us at Pilot Mountain for their last cruise-in for 2010.  And it does not get much better for a cruise site than Pilot Mountain.  Lots of room for the cars, scenic downtown, sufficient shopping opportunities for the ladies and a very cooperative business climate that actually encourages cruise-in’s.

Rick, Reese and I left early so we could eat lunch before finding a parking space.  Vivian and Kim rode with their husbands while Sharon arrived later due to some things she had to do Saturday morning.  After finishing lunch at Cousin Gary’s Restaurant, we encountered Bob and his Mustang in the parking lot.  It was round noon when our Rockwell bunch parked in our usual area beneath a spreading shade tree.

Soon it was time to walk the streets and parking lot for the first time while the girls shopped.  We found a number of interesting cars.  This Ford PU rat rod caught my eye with both the exterior and the interior.

Further on, we came across this street rod with a Keith Black hemi.  Very impressive!!  Rick and Reese also found the Goodguys booth so they could re-up and get a hat!!

Owning my black 2nd gen Camaro makes me somewhat biased towards them.  There were a number of nice 2nd gen Camaro’s on display.

Classic Chevy’s were well represented.  This ’61 was a beaut while the ’55 had Inglese fuel injection.

There were plenty of great Ford’s as well.  Here are some of my favorites.

This fine Desoto also deserver to be mentioned.  All in all, it was a great day to do the car thing.  Our Rockwell group was well represented with fine cars and we all look forward to next spring and the next Pilot Mountain cruise.  To see more images, click on the “Cruise-in Photos” tab above.  Also, if you click on any of the images on this page, you will see a full size image.

  1. That’s a good pic of Mom!

  2. Thanks. Unlike some of the cruise’s, there were things for the women to do that are not into cars.

  3. I pay a quick visit day-to-day a few websites and websites
to read posts, but this web site gives quality based writing.
