Mocksville Cruise-In-8/2/10

Sharon and I cruised up to Mocksville a couple weeks ago in the Camaro.  All went well with the car except for the idle being a bit high.  At least it didn’t die at every stoplight!!

This was our first time at Mocksville and it was very nice.  The downtown square area features four large trees on each corner of the square.  Besides looking nice, the trees provided welcome shade.  We found a spot to park and got the camera out.  Soon we spotted Rick’s Olds parked along the main street and we bumped into them a bit later.

Some highlights for us included a very nice 30’s Studebaker four door.  It was well done.  The nose of the car was very attractive as was the trunk on the rear.  I particularly liked the headlights.

My brother-in-law is building a 1934 Plymouth so we had to take photos of the one at Mocksville.  It was for sale but I did not see the owner to get a price.  I liked the color and the stance.

There were a number of 2nd gen Camaros there to complement our car.  Also a very nice ’64 Ford Galaxie, a sharp Cobra and a pretty ’55 Chevy.

The late forties Chevy pickup truck also caught our eye as Sharon has done an oil painting of one of these trucks.

We had great hamburgers at the restaurant on the square.  Very nice event.

I have posted more photos on the “Cruise-In Photos” tab.
